Basketball Game Preview: Alpaugh Buffalos vs. Avenal Buccaneers

Alpaugh hasn't had much luck against Avenal recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Alpaugh Buffalos will take on the Avenal Buccaneers in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Alpaugh is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 60-28 loss at the hands of Maricopa. The Buffalos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.

Meanwhile, Avenal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Chowchilla 54-24. The Buccaneers were down 44-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Avenal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Alpaugh, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Alpaugh was dealt a bruising 72-33 defeat at the hands of Avenal when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Alpaugh avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
