Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is North Pitt's Third in Last Four Outings

Greene Central came into Wednesday's game looking for another win against North Pitt, but Zihanna Lightfoot wouldn't allow it. The North Pitt Panthers came out on top against the Greene Central Rams by a score of 51-40 on Wednesday thanks in part to Lightfoot, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 22 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games she's played.

Allianna Duncan was another key player, putting up two points and five assists. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (two).

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was An'Nysha Wooten, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Sutton, who posted ten points and three steals.

North Pitt is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 32.8% in those games and 0% outside of them. As for Greene Central, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
