Softball Game Preview: Yarmouth Clippers vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles

The Yarmouth Clippers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Yarmouth lost 9-3 to Medomak Valley on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Clippers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Yarmouth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mt. Ararat, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over Cape Elizabeth on Monday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Yarmouth was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Ararat in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 9-5. Will the Clippers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
