Volleyball Recap: Grace Russell Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Civic Memorial + How To Watch

Jersey lost to Civic Memorial back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Panthers skirted past the Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Eagles since September 27, 2022.

Jersey had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-18.

Jersey got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Russell out in front who had 13 digs. That's the most digs Russell has posted over her last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Feldman, who had eight digs.

Jersey's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 13-8. As for Civic Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6-2.

Looking ahead, Jersey will square off against Waterloo at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Civic Memorial, they will face off against Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
