Volleyball Recap: Lorali Overcash's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ashe County over Lake Norman Charter

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Ashe County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Lake Norman Charter Knights on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Huskies have suffered since September 29th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lorali Overcash, who had nine digs, two aces, and one block. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzley Blevins, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Ashe County's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 26-9. As for Lake Norman Charter, the win was the 23rd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-3.

Ashe County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Norman Charter, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against South Rowan on the 28th.
