Volleyball Recap: Waterloo Vikings vs. Western Reserve Blue Devils

Waterloo managed to slip by Western Reserve the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Blue Devils on Thursday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Waterloo was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-9, 25-23.

Kristlyn Kehrer paced Waterloo's offense, picking up ten kills. Kehrer got some help from Brilyn Eddy and her 17 assists. Izzy McKenna controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Western Reserve found their leader in freshman Harper Darney, who had seven digs and two aces.

Waterloo now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Western Reserve, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Waterloo has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Newton Falls on the 25th. As for Western Reserve, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Harding on the 27th.
