Football Recap: Cairo Piles Up the Points Against Leon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cairo). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-7 win over the Leon Lions. With the Syrupmakers ahead 42-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Leon still got an impressive performance from Brice Cameron, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The victory (which was Cairo's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Leon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Cairo will square off against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Leon, they will take on Marianna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
