Preview: Sandpoint Bulldogs vs. Grangeville Bulldogs
Sandpoint has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Grangeville Bulldogs in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Kellogg scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Sandpoint still came out on top. Sandpoint managed a 64-60 victory over Kellogg. Given Sandpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Kellogg is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sandpoint can attribute much of their success to Brecken Mire, who scored 18 points, and Jordyn Tomco, who scored 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Livia Driggs, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Grangeville put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past McCall-Donnelly with a 53-48 win. That's two games straight that Grangeville has won by exactly five points.
Sandpoint pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Grangeville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
