The Trinity Christian Gryphons will head out to square off against the Quantico Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Trinity Christian put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Episcopal with a sharp 14-6 win. With that victory, the Gryphons brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Maddie Gilbert made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two triples. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Evelyn Chaplin was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emma Sibert, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Trinity Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Quantico got the win against Maryland School for the Deaf last Thursday by a conclusive 27-17. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Quantico got a massive performance out of Mya Farnsworth, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Bleigh, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
Trinity Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Quantico, the victory got them back to even at 1-1-1.
Trinity Christian suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Quantico when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Gryphons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
