Baseball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus was the 6-1 winner over Florida Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Columbus Explorers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Florida Christian Patriots on Friday.

Columbus got a good showing from Samuel Alonso, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Florida Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will host Killian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Florida Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mater Academy Charter at 7:00 p.m.
