Basketball Recap: LaGrange Comes Up Short

LaGrange lost against Sandy Creek back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The LaGrange Grangers were dealt a 58-19 defeat at the hands of the Sandy Creek Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Grangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Patriots are ranked 75th).

Sandy Creek found their leader in freshman Morghan Reckley, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Reckley's 26th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Reckley, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

LaGrange's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Sandy Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

LaGrange does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sandy Creek, they have already played their next game, a 58-38 win against Trinity Christian on the 13th.
