 Chapel Hill lost against Riverside-Durham back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. The Chapel Hill Tigers suffered a  tough 24-7 loss at the hands of the Riverside-Durham Pirates. Chapel Hill has not had much luck with Riverside-Durham recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
  Alexandra Dye and  Silvia Tellez-Flores stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Dye  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances, while  Tellez-Flores  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.  Rachel Penzner was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 On Riverside-Durham's side,  Juleah Somers was a major factor no matter where she played. She  tossed 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Somers was even better at the plate,  scoring five  runs while going 3-for-6.
 In other batting news,  Nehir Volkan was a standout: she went 5-for-6 with a  home run, three  stolen bases,  and six  RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Paisley Russell, who  got on base  in all six of her plate appearances with five  runs, three  RBI,  and a  triple.
 Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Riverside-Durham, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
 Chapel Hill has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Carrboro at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Riverside-Durham, they will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Enloe at 4:00  p.m.  on April 3rd.
