Recap: Central Bulldogs vs. Lebanon Yellowjackets

The Central Bulldogs lost against the Lebanon Yellowjackets back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Central ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-44 walloping at the hands of Lebanon. Central has struggled against Lebanon recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Lebanon to victory were Madison Myers and Bodie Cox. Myers scored 22 points along with seven rebounds, while Cox almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cox has scored all season. Mackenzie Perryman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.

Central dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Lebanon, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Plains at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while West Plains is ranked 31st). As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to challenge Waynesville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lebanon is facing Waynesville at the right time seeing as Waynesville is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
