Basketball Recap: Austin Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Austin Prep Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Denton Broncos.

Denton was led to victory by Ethan Ashu and Ethan Sheats. Ashu posted 23 points, while Sheats put up 19 points. Those 23 points gave Ashu a new career-high. Lojok Loliwa was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Austin Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Denton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Austin Prep Academy will take on Varsity Opponent in a holiday battle at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Denton, they will head out to challenge Rockwall at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
