Basketball Game Preview: Leonia Lions vs. Dwight-Englewood Bulldogs

Leonia hasn't had much luck against Dwight-Englewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Leonia Lions will square off against the Dwight-Englewood Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Leonia turned things around against Palisades Park on Friday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 59-35 win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dwight-Englewood). They blew past Ridgefield Memorial, posting an 85-51 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs who have now won five matchups in a row.

Dwight-Englewood pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Leonia, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Leonia was dealt a bruising 79-51 defeat at the hands of Dwight-Englewood in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Leonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
