Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Thomas Jefferson Academy walked away with it. They secured a 45-40 W over the David Emanuel Academy Eagles on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Payton Peebles, who posted four points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Peebles a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Williams, who scored nine points.

Thomas Jefferson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for David Emanuel Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
