Martin County waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Bertie Falcons. Considering the Gators have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Martin County pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bertie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Martin County is set to face off against their familiar foe Perquimans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bertie will square off against rival Gates County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
