Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for El Dorado

El Dorado hadn't done well against Hanks recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Aztecs walked away with an 8-3 win over the Knights. The game was the first time the Aztecs have beaten the Knights on their field since February 18, 2017.

Mia Davis was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Nevaeh Matsuda was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

The victory (which was El Dorado's fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hanks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. El Dorado is set to challenge their familiar foe Del Valle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Aztecs have won four straight at home, while the Conquistadores won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Hanks will take on rival Americas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
