Basketball Recap: Tomahawk's Win Ends 13-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tomahawk). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Mercer Tigers 84-34. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Hatchets considering their 29-point performance the contest before.

Tomahawk's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Mercer, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Tomahawk won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rhinelander at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rhinelander will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Tomahawk surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mercer, they and Drummond will face off at 5:45 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
