George Washington took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Hinkley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Thunder 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since February 27th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (99-97) George Washington actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 12-25, 15-10.

George Washington moved to 6-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Hinkley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
