Softball Recap: Cedar Grove Extends Winning Streak to Five

With a playoff win on the line, Cedar Grove rose to the challenge on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Weehawken Indians a 10-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by six runs or more this season.

The win (which was Cedar Grove's fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Weehawken, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6.

Looking ahead, Cedar Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Weehawken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
