No. 2 Corona Centennial faces No. 6 Santa Margarita on Friday at the Rose Bowl in CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship.

The Thanksgiving week high school football slate is headlined by two MaxPreps Top 25 matchups including No. 2 Centennial (Corona) vs. No. 6 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) on Friday at the Rose Bowl for California's Southern Section Division 1 championship.

Last week in the semifinals, Centennial became the first team since 2013 to beat Mater Dei (Santa Ana) twice in the same season. The Huskies improved to 11-1 with a 28-27 win over the Monarchs to punch a ticket to their first section championship game in a decade.

Centennial's only loss came in overtime against Santa Margarita in late August. The Huskies were without head coach Matt Logan, who was hospitalized for precautionary reasons.

Santa Margarita won the regular season meeting without four-star wide receiver Trent Mosley, who missed five games early in the season with a foot injury. The Eagles are playing in their first section title game since 2011 after beating Orange Lutheran (Orange) 31-6 in the other semifinal.

In Georgia, Grayson (Loganville) took over as the No. 1 team in the MaxPreps Top 25 this week and puts its 26-game win streak on the line Friday at No. 11 Carrollton in the AAAAAA quarterfinals. Both teams are 12-0.

Carrollton is 26-1 over the last two years with the only loss coming against Grayson in last year's AAAAAA state championship game, 38-24.

No. 7 Buford looks to knock off Douglas County (Douglasville) for the second time this year in the AAAAAA quarterfinals. The Wolves jumped out to a 31-6 lead and held on for a 34-26 win in September. The winner will face Valdosta or Walton (Marietta) in the semifinals.

In Nevada, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) won its fifth consecutive state title and 16th since 2007. The Gaels beat Arbor View (Las Vegas) 44-7 in the Open Division state championship on Tuesday at Allegiant Stadium. The Gaels closed out the 2025 season with an 11-1 record with the lone loss coming against Mater Dei, 28-24.

In Texas, No. 9 Southlake Carroll (Southlake) locks horns with Prosper in the third round of the Conference 6A Division 2 playoffs. Head coach Riley Dodge's bunch has scored at least 35 points in every game this season.

No. 21 Cass Tech (Detroit) and No. 23 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) are both playing for state titles this week.

Cass Tech looks to repeat as Division 1 state champs Sunday at Ford Field. The Technicians lock horns with Catholic Central (Novi, Mich.) in a matchup of 13-0 teams.

Don Bosco Prep is going for its first state title since 2015 against St. Joseph Regional (Montvale) on Friday. In the regular season meeting between the finalists, Bosco escaped with a 17-14 overtime win in October.

Four-star junior quarterback Peyton Houston looks to lead Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport) to a huge upset on Friday against No. 8 Edna Karr (New Orleans) in Louisiana's Division I Select quarterfinals. The Cougars are riding a 25-game win streak.

Finally, in Arizona No. 18 Hamilton (Chandler) faces rival Chandler for the second time in four weeks with the winner advancing to the Open Division state championship. The Huskies erased a 34-13 third quarter deficit en route to a 55-41 win. The winner will face Basha (Chandler) or Liberty (Peoria) in the state title game Dec. 6 at Arizona State University.
