Volleyball Recap: Durham School of the Arts Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Durham School of the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Riverside-Durham Pirates, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 25-15.

Grace Stypmann paced Durham School of the Arts' offense, picking up four kills. Stypmann got some help from Ella Woodall and her five assists.

Riverside-Durham's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nureen Khan, who had 22 digs and three aces. Liesl Rehder was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Durham School of the Arts' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Riverside-Durham, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Durham School of the Arts will be playing at home against South Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside-Durham, they are taking a road trip to face off against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
