League recap: MEZANSKY powers Mamaroneck with hot hitting week

Section 1 Conference 2 - B league recap: 5/29/12

Matthew Mezansky was on fire this week, as he led Section 1 Conference 2 - B with a .421 average, one home run and nine RBIs. His Mamaroneck team went 2-0.

With a rough week, New Rochelle dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. New Rochelle fell from No. 15 to No. 32 after going 1-1 over the past week. The Huguenots are ranked No. 1566 in the nation, and have an overall record of 14-3.

The Tigers racked up a league-leading 66 hits this week, bringing their total to 235 on the year, also tops in the league. Mamaroneck, which sits in first place, is led by Marino Mathew, who has accumulated 33 hits this season.

The Tigers, the season leader in runs scored at 177, added to their total with a league-high 53 runs this week. Michael Presley leads the team with 27 runs scored and MEZANSKY has a team-high 23 RBIs on the year.



The Tigers' MATHEW finished his week with nine hits, tops in the league. He is first in the league with 33 hits this year, and has a .440 batting average.
