Basketball Recap: Rockdale Triumphs

Rockdale lost to Lexington back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Rockdale Tigers made off with a 38-37 victory over the Lexington Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Lexington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamoria Crawford, who posted five points and eight steals. Crawford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Maya Bell was another key player, putting up 19 points along with five boards and four steals.

Rockdale's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Lexington, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-6 record.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Little River Academy the next time they take the court. Lexington will host Little River Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Rockdale will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 24th.
