Softball Recap: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. Mt. Whitney Pioneers

After flying high against Corcoran on Monday, Atascadero came back down to earth. The Greyhounds came up short against the Mt. Whitney Pioneers on Tuesday, falling 17-7. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Eden Blais and Melisilei Tonga stepped up to the plate in a big way. Blais scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Tonga went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Samantha Bedell was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Atascadero's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mt. Whitney, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-11-2 record.

Atascadero wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against Lemoore on the 15th. Mt. Whitney has also already played their next game (against Corcoran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
