Football Recap: KD Linville and Idrees Lee Pace Connally Defense + How To Watch

Connally extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They came up short against the La Vega Pirates, falling 28-6. While losing is never fun, the Cadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Pirates are ranked 29th).

Connally didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of KD Linville and Idrees Lee.

As for La Vega, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Elbert Jones was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 123 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 123 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Connally wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 53-14 win against Gatesville on the 7th. As for La Vega, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-7 victory against Lorena on the 7th.
