Preview: Beaver Bobcats vs. Hopewell Vikings
After three games on the road, Beaver is heading back home. They will take on the Hopewell Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Beaver suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Lincoln Park Performing Arts, falling 88-38. Beaver has struggled against Lincoln Park Performing Arts recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Beaver had strong showings from Ty Butler, who scored ten points along with six rebounds, and Brady Mayo, who scored 17 points. That was a full 44.7% of Beaver's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Hopewell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Central Valley 53-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hopewell has scored all season.
Beaver's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Hopewell, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Beaver took their victory against Hopewell in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 76-53. Will Beaver repeat their success, or does Hopewell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
