Baseball Recap: Mamaroneck Has No Trouble Against Scarsdale

Mamaroneck had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Scarsdale Raiders on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Max Dowell looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Mamaroneck got a massive performance out of WILL PLUNKETT, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI PLUNKETT has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of DUNCAN McInness, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Mamaroneck always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mamaroneck has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Scarsdale, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Mamaroneck didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against Ketcham on the 31st. Scarsdale has also already played their next contest (against North Rockland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
