Volleyball Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short

If Eastlake was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cedarcrest on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolves came up short against the Skyline Spartans on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

While Eastlake ultimately came up short, they really made Skyline work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14, 27-25.

Parker Johnson paced Eastlake's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Olivia DeAmicis and her nine assists.

Among those leading the charge was Sanika Vipin, who had 14 digs.

With the defeat, Eastlake broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 6-12-1. As for Skyline, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-3 record this season.

While Eastlake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
