Baseball Recap: Cherokee Trail Takes a Loss

Cherokee Trail fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Rock Canyon on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rock Canyon Jaguars by a score of 7-6. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 8-6 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Luca Salvato was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Harper Knopp was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Cherokee Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rock Canyon, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Cherokee Trail has already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Eaglecrest on the 14th. As for Rock Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-5 loss against Boulder Creek on the 17th.
