            Softball Recap: Fairmont Firebirds vs. Lebanon Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Beavercreek  on Wednesday, Fairmont came back down to earth. The Firebirds fell just short of the Lebanon Warriors by a score of  6-4 on Thursday. The Firebirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.
  Amy Osman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run and two  RBI. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Carlee Netherton, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
Fairmont's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Lebanon, the  victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
 Fairmont and Lebanon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Firebirds will  take on  Springfield  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday with a big rank  advantage  (146 vs. 435). Meanwhile,  Lebanon (ranked 37th) will meet Sycamore (ranked 357th)  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
