            Basketball Recap: Niwot Cougars vs. Erie Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Niwot was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight  defeat. They took a  blow against the Erie Tigers, falling  70-41. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in December of 2019.
 Erie's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Callen Gebhardt, who  went 5-for-9  to rack up 14 points in addition to seven  assists and five  boards. Gebhardt is also on a roll when it comes to  shooting accuracy, as he's  posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's  played.  Christopher Smith was another key player,  putting up 11  points and six  steals.
Niwot's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Erie, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.
 Niwot does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Erie, they will square off against Brighton at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Brighton knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Erie likes a good challenge.
