AAAAA Region 8 recap November 19, 2013
Gainesville extended the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 8 this week by beating M.L. King, 28-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Heritage lost to Tucker 35-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Gainesville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mikey Gonzalez threw for 4 and 1 touchdown and Rodney Lackey had 13 yards receiving. On the ground Deshaun Watson chipped in 151 yards.
Bruce Miller's team's dynamic duo of Gonzalez and Lackey proved to be unstoppable against the Lions, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Watson was a passing and rushing force as the Red Elephants topped M.L. King. He completed 4 passes for 19 yards and also ran for 151 yards.
