Basketball Recap: Westview Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Westview Warriors lost to the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves on the road by a 58-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Braves are ranked 26th).

It was another big night for Kellen Pickett, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian. Pickett is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Sefton, who posted six points in addition to 12 boards and six assists.

Westview's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Coming up, Westview will take on Prairie Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they will challenge Fort Wayne Snider at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
