Basketball Preview: Parkside Eagles vs. Thurgood Marshall Academy Warriors
The Parkside Eagles will be playing at home against the Thurgood Marshall Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully the Warriors like a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Parkside faced the Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Parkside walked away with a 67-57 victory over the Panthers. The win was just what Parkside needed coming off of a 86-56 loss in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Semaj Marshall, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasson James, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Thurgood Marshall Academy, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They were outmatched by E.L. Haynes on the road and fell 51-18.
Parkside is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Thurgood Marshall Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Parkside against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 78-8 win. Does Parkside have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
