Notre Dame-Green Pond's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Palmerton Blue Bombers as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Emily Szczepanski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Szczepanski was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Notre Dame-Green Pond let Riley Palank and Hannah Lilly run wild. Palank went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Lilly scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Lilly, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Notre Dame-Green Pond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmerton only posted an OBP of .360.
