Franklin made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northampton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Franklin put the hurt on Northampton with a sharp 21-10 win on Friday. Considering the Broncos' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Raigen Maslowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That earned run was her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing ten bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Maslowski is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Ja'Najh Frazier was a standout: she scored three runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Telease Willis, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northampton only posted an OBP of .367.
