Baseball Game Preview: Waynesboro Little Giants vs. James River Knights

The Waynesboro Little Giants are taking a road trip to face off against the James River Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Staunton hit Waynesboro with a four-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Little Giants lost 8-2 to the Storm. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Little Giants couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, James River had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Patrick Henry on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 4, 2024.

James River's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Waynesboro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Waynesboro beat James River 7-3 in their previous matchup last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Little Giants since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
