Columbus hadn't done well against Lincoln Southeast recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Discoverers skirted past the Knights 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Discoverers: when they faced off against the Knights two weeks ago, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Matthew Krueger tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Cameron, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jack Holys, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln Southeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
