Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Jett Lopez stepped things up a notch to give Amarillo the 'W'. Lopez threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2024.

Lopez and Amarillo will head out to challenge Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Sandies had to take a loss when they last met the Eagles, but Lopez had little to do with the loss: he threw for 366 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt, and also punched in one score on the ground.
