Swansboro extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Mattie Floyd. The Swansboro Pirates came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 33-29 W against the White Oak Vikings thanks to Floyd, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave her a new career-high.

White Oak lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sidney Ferguson, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamarah Rawls, who put up three points in addition to seven blocks and five rebounds.

Swansboro's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for White Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Swansboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-20 win against West Carteret on the 22nd. As for White Oak, they will head out on the road to take on Rocky Mount at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mount knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully White Oak likes a good challenge.
