Basketball Game Preview: La Farge/Youth Initiative vs. Riverdale Chieftains

After both having extra time off, La Farge/Youth Initiative and the Riverdale Chieftains will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Farge/Youth Initiative will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Friday, La Farge/Youth Initiative took a blow against De Soto, falling 70-13. The matchup marked La Farge/Youth Initiative's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

While Riverdale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 67-30 win over Iowa-Grant. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Chieftains have posted since November 28, 2023.

La Farge/Youth Initiative's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Riverdale, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

La Farge/Youth Initiative came up short against Riverdale in their previous meeting back in January, falling 47-39. Can La Farge/Youth Initiative avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
