Softball Recap: Liberty-Benton Wins Going Away Against Leipsic

Liberty-Benton got themselves on the board against Leipsic on Monday, but Leipsic never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Vikings. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Leipsic's batters probably weren't too happy with Reagan Knapke, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up a single walk). With that strong performance, Knapke is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kylie Steinman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Lauren Erdeljac also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Liberty-Benton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Liberty-Benton's record now sits at 13-4. As for Leipsic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
