Basketball Recap: Kalama Skates Past Stevenson with Ease

Kalama entered their tilt with Stevenson on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Stevenson Bulldogs, posting a 59-31 win. The Chinooks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Kalama to victory were Aubrey Doerty and Hannah Johnson. Doerty posted 22 points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Doerty has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylie Cadigan, who scored eight points and four blocks.

Kalama smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Kalama now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Stevenson, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Kalama wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-27 victory against Battle Ground on the 20th. As for Stevenson, they will square off against Fort Vancouver at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevenson is facing Fort Vancouver at the right time seeing as Fort Vancouver is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
