Softball Recap: Edison Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Edison won against Justice on Tuesday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Falls Church Jaguars 20-7. The Eagles have beaten the Jaguars the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jaguars has come to flipping the script.

Maya Sable was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jazmyn Roberson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Edison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Edison pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Falls Church, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Falls Church will take on Hayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. Edison will be paying especially close attention to Falls Church's match: after Falls Church faces off against Annandale, they'll take on Edison again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
