Softball Preview: West Holmes Knights vs. Wooster Generals

West Holmes has gone a perfect 4-0 against Wooster recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Generals at 5:00 p.m. West Holmes will be strutting in after a victory while Wooster will be coming in after a defeat.

West Holmes took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Waynedale 12-2. The Knights not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.

BRIAR CLINE made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, GABBY FOWLER and ZALINA PROPER did most of the damage at the plate: FOWLER went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while PROPER scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Kennedy Russell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Emily Boyd was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

West Holmes' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Wooster, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
