Baseball Recap: Pottsboro Cardinals vs. Leonard Tigers

After flying high against Leonard last Tuesday, Pottsboro came back down to earth. The Pottsboro Cardinals took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leonard Tigers on Thursday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Braedan Trissell put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Trissell was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Matthew McCullough made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Jesse Robinson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
