Softball Recap: Niceville Falls Short of Winter Springs in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Niceville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Winter Springs Bears by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Chloe Bailey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Briana Noles was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Niceville's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Winter Springs, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-8.

As of now, neither Niceville nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
