Softball Recap: Preston Takes a Loss

Preston lost against Shelley on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians fell just short of the Russets by a score of 6-4. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellie Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Brielle Biggs was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Averie Madsen, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Preston's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Shelley, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Preston will take on Marsh Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Shelley, they will be playing at home against Blackfoot at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
